The need of process re-engineering is strongly felt in the Social Security sector, not only within every single organization, but over the organizations as well. In this context, back office and front office integration are essential.

ICT Interoperability

The Social Security focusses on ‘interoperability’.
Interoperability means that applications and systems of various technological signatures can cooperate, e.g. by exchanging data or by granting access to their specific data.
The sector has given preference to a ‘service oriented architecture’ or SOA.

The integration has to cover two levels:

  • integration of the applications by means of web services and
  • integration of the presentation by means of portal sites

This vision clearly corresponds with the solutions developed by Cegeka in its competence centres.
Three levels are discerned (see competence centres):

  • presentation or user level
  • process level
  • back office: existing applications that are – irrespective of the technology – accessed through web servers.

Strong market penetration

The Social Security was largely contributory to the expansion of the activities of Ardatis, since 2006 fully integrated in Cegeka.
The main part of the larger (tailor-made) applications developed by Ardatis and its predecessors COI and Orda-B, is situated in this sector.

We are strongly present in this market and in some segments, such as the social security funds, the child allowance funds and the funds for subsistence security, we are even almost intertwined.
It may be obvious that Cegeka not only wishes to consolidate this presence, but that we also look for possible growth, since our main added value is based on the knowledge, acquired during the last thirty years, of the Social Security processes and systems.

A unique point of departure which characterizes Cegeka as a full local player, with a strong embedment in the Belgian systems.
