Just like your employees’ 4G phones work just fine while on campus, so will their 5G phones by connecting to the public network. However, just like companies now have secure corporate WiFi networks for employees, companies will also begin to roll out their own secure MPNs. A 5G smartphone will easily switch between the public 5G network and the corporate MPN thereby reducing your companies’ telco expenditures.
A private network is only accessible to a specific group of end users or devices. Access to an MPN is governed by the user’s role and access rights. People with 5G smartphones cannot access a company’s MPN without the proper rights. Conversely, not all MPN users can access a public 5G network without extra integration work.
