Full-service IT provider Cegeka has entered into a strategic partnership with the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM). The Dutch regulator selected Cegeka after a European tender, and from June 1, 2020, the authority will outsource a large part of its IT services to Cegeka. The agreement has an initial term of four years, with an option for renewal for a further two years. As part of the agreement, 15 AFM employees will be transferred to Cegeka as of 1 September 2020.

“Drawing on our knowledge and experience in the financial and government sector, we are confident that we can strengthen the AFM effectively in the development and implementation of their IT roadmap. The broad scope of the project will allow us to work together on many levels, and will involve all areas of IT offered by Cegeka,” says Karim Henkens, Managing Director of Cegeka Nederland, DACH and Nordics.

A secure digital workplace, available anytime, anywhere

Cegeka and the AFM are establishing a strategic, long-term collaboration. Cegeka will set up a completely new data centre infrastructure, including application services, workplace solutions, security services and a service desk, ensuring that the AFM environment is available 24/7 and meets the AFM’s information security requirements. In addition, Cegeka will further develop the AFM’s CRM applications. AFM staff will benefit from an enhanced user experience and a host of collaborative opportunities thanks to the implementation of Microsoft 365. This will include uniform access to applications on different devices such as laptops, mobile phones and tablets.

Gerard Hurkmans, IT manager of the AFM: “The AFM is very much looking forward to this cooperation. We expect to take full advantage of Cegeka’s experience and expertise, and to increase our strength in innovation. Our cooperation with Cegeka fits perfectly with our goal of evolving towards more data-driven regulation by the AFM.”
