Together with the rest of the world, we are horrified, angered and saddened by the images and news coming in from the Russian invasion in Ukraine. Our colleagues at Citymesh, part of the Cegeka Group, have taken action with “Project Hope”. A team of Citymesh IT-experts, together with a crew of Flemish firefighters, have traveled to Poland to help refugees at the Polish-Ukranian border.
A crew of fifteen people has left on Thursday, March 10 for Medyka in Poland, at the border with Ukraine. There, they will provide support and assistance to Ukrainian refugees crossing the border.
Connectivity equipment and local networks
Ukrainian refugees at the border and in the camps often have no way to stay in touch with the homefront, as there is no connectivity infrastructure. It is also critical for local coordination professionals to have access to mobile internet and mobile phones. For this reason, Project Hope's IT experts will help provide equipment and install local networks.
In addition, Project Hope will also deliver food, medical supplies and other goods that people donated at collection points in Belgium.
