Agentic AI works! But are we ready for it?

Agentic AI is everywhere. It’s the topic of conversation in boardrooms and at conferences. But as with any hype, skepticism is never far away. Not the healthy kind that asks critical questions, but more along the lines of: “I hear a lot about it, but it’s still hard to grasp what it can really do. Maybe it’s not all that impressive after all.”

The problem isn’t the technology itself. It’s the lack of clarity around how to deploy agents in an optimal way.

Why does this skepticism persist?

Some organizations are already automating repetitive tasks, enriching data, and making decisions supported by intelligent agents. They are well on their way to becoming true Frontier Firms, where AI is no longer an experiment but fully integrated into how people, processes, and technology work together. Other organizations are still at an early stage. And that’s perfectly fine!

If you’re still searching for the right approach, Agentic AI can seem overly complex or perhaps not suited to your organization. In practice, it often comes down to digital maturity: a series of steps that prepare you for working with agents. Agentic AI requires a solid foundation: strong governance, clean data, integrations that work, and clear insight into your processes. Not flashy, but essential.

A hands-on workshop to jointly identify where agents can deliver the most value can make a huge difference. It turns Agentic AI from something abstract into something you can start using right away.

“AI is inconsequent.” But is it really?

A common criticism is that AI doesn’t always give the same answer. But that raises another question: how consistent are our own processes, data, and decisions? AI simply responds to the input it receives. When processes vary, data is missing, or exceptions become the rule, those issues show up in the results. In that sense, agents are no different from other software applications.

And let’s be honest: people aren’t always consistent either. We make decisions based on gut feeling, under time pressure, or with limited information. Agentic AI makes those inconsistencies visible. What we call “inconsistent behavior” is often just a reflection of our own digital complexity.

The paradox of invisible impact

Social media only amplifies skepticism. One post showcases a spectacular breakthrough, the next a gimmick. Yet the best agents often operate behind the scenes. No flashy dashboards, no fireworks. Just quiet efficiency: enriching customer data, supporting decisions, sorting tickets, fine-tuning processes. And what you don’t see is often hard to believe. It’s only natural that doubt arises faster than trust.

That’s the paradox: those who build Agentic AI see the results. Others don’t.

The difference usually isn’t the technology, but an organization’s level of digital maturity. And that can be strengthened step by step — exactly as described above. With the right insights and guidance, Agentic AI becomes something that delivers immediate value.

A shift you can’t ignore

Agentic AI isn’t a buzzword. It’s a fundamental shift in how work is organized. But it requires vision, structure, and digital maturity. Organizations that invest in this today will see results tomorrow.

Maybe it’s time to flip the question. Not: “Does Agentic AI really work?” but: Is my organisation ready to start working with it?

Why now?

Organizations that invest now will create a competitive advantage. Not by blindly following the hype, but by making processes more efficient, reducing repetitive tasks, and enabling better decision-making.

The technology is here. The possibilities are here. Are you ready for the next step?
