A personal report from the European Power Platform Conference in Copenhagen
At EPPC 2026, one theme was everywhere: AI now helps us build business applications, not only use them. Walking through the sessions in Copenhagen, I saw how quickly app development on Power Platform is evolving, and what that means for organizations that want to innovate faster.
Two developments stood out for me. The first is the rise of Code Apps, a new approach that combines the strengths of Power Platform with modern development technologies such as React. Business applications become more flexible and more customizable, with richer user experiences.
The second goes a step further: AI-assisted development, often called vibe coding. Instead of starting from a blank screen, developers work with AI to generate components, pages and application logic, which shortens development considerably. If you have not seen it yet: you describe the app you want in plain language, and the AI builds it. The first time, it feels a bit like magic.
One session made this concrete. "Vibe Code, Real Solutions" by Microsoft MVPs Vivian Voss and Yannick Reekmans opened with a statement that got everyone nodding: "You can ship an app in 20 minutes. The problem isn't speed. It's everything that comes after."
When the AI stops typing, a few uncomfortable questions appear:
My favorite one-liner of the whole conference: "AI doesn't know what production looks like. You do."
Before anyone worries that AI will replace developers: the sessions offered a clear reality check. AI helps create applications faster, but successful business solutions still depend on sound architecture, governance, security and a clear understanding of business processes. As the speakers put it: "AI accelerates your job. It does not shrink your responsibility."
The mental model I am taking home: treat AI-generated apps like the work of a talented junior colleague. Fast, impressive and eager to please, but you still review the work before it goes live. Check it, improve it and merge it intentionally. AI speeds up the work, and your expertise turns ideas into reliable, enterprise-ready solutions.
These new tools run on the same trusted Power Platform foundation: the security, governance and lifecycle management your organization already relies on. The advice for anyone starting out was simple: think about your data first, generate second. Decide who should see and edit what before you ask the AI to build the screens.
For organizations exploring Microsoft Power Platform, the gap between an idea and a working solution is getting smaller. Teams can experiment and ship improvements more quickly. At the same time, the fundamentals of good solution design matter as much as ever.
The closing slide of the session put it in one line: "Vibe code your way to a prototype. Architect your way to production."
My main takeaway from EPPC? The future of app development is not AI versus people. It is AI and people working together to build better solutions, faster.
At Cegeka, that is exactly the balance we aim for: we embrace the speed of AI-assisted development and keep the governance and quality standards that enterprise environments require. As these tools mature, we keep exploring how they help our customers move faster in their digital transformation. My colleague Sigi saw the same pattern in the processes these apps support: Stop Asking for Faster Horses: What EPPC 2026 Taught Me About AI.
