Cegeka earns Top Employer certificate for second year in a row

The international technological service provider has gained the Top Employer in Belgium certificate for the second year in a row. The certificate is issued by the Top Employers Institute, which certifies companies with an excellent HR policy worldwide. Anik Stalmans, HR manager at Cegeka: “We are working with a lot of passion, day in day out, to optimize our HR policy, which is deeply rooted in our business strategy at Cegeka. We are honoured to receive the Top Employer certificate this year once again.” Cegeka scores with its vision on talent management. In addition, it has registered the most significant progress on the onboarding front.

Strong progress on the onboarding front

To arrive at a comprehensive assessment, the Tompo Employer Institute ranks various HR subjects spread across 10 topics: talent strategy, personnel planning, talent recruitment, onboarding, learning and development, performance management, leadership development, career and succession management, compensation and benefits and culture. The Top Employers Institute evaluates the implementation of these HR practices and assesses how they are supported by strategy, ownership, KPIs and technology. Cegeka attained a top score for personnel planning and registered significant progress on onboarding.

CEO of your career

Thanks to the sustained national and international growth shown by Cegeka, attracting, developing and retaining talent is now more important than ever before. Cegeka has thus developed a distinct vision on talent management. “At Cegeka, we want to offer our employees the opportunities and tools to develop fully on the personal and professional levels, but employees are themselves responsible for choosing the direction they want and to give their utmost for the ambitions that they have set. Everyone is the CEO of his or her own career,” says Anik Stalmans, HR manager at Cegeka.

Boost in the development process

Cegeka made the most significant progress on the onboarding front, in which it invested heavily last year. “Our growth is ratcheting the interest in a quality onboarding programme to an ever higher position. As an international family business, we want to have our people feel involved as promptly as possible. A smooth onboarding gives a boost to their development process. We are consequently very satisfied that we have made such good progress on this front, but the final goal has not been reached yet. It is therefore an issue on which we want to focus further in 2019,” Anik Stalmans explains.

Employee commitment survey and new initiatives

Organizations that are certified as Top Employers focus on progressive people-first HR practices. Our annual commitment survey among our own employees shows that 74% of our employees in Belgium recommend Cegeka as an employer to friends and acquaintances. Flexible working hours, relationships with colleagues and their esteem, are prized the most. In addition, job content, remuneration and being able to work on interesting and challenging projects have the greatest impact in Cegeka. Cegeka is launching all sorts of new HR initiatives in 2019. It all starts with the Management Excellence Bootcamp to give a boost to the management, leadership, and coaching skills of its managers. In addition, Cegeka is introducing a revamped wage scale and an extensive Flex Reward Plan to optimize the wage policy. Finally, Cegeka is opening an additional site on the Corda Campus in Hasselt to handle the further growth. Naturally, the emphasis is on modern workstations once again. We want to form a community on the Corda Campus that employees, students, customers and partners would like to be a part of.

Meet & Sign

At present, Cegeka has more than 100 vacancies in Belgium for a broad spectrum of jobs, for starters as well as more experienced professionals. To attract potential employees, Cegeca will be holding various Meet & Sign days in the coming months, geared particularly to young graduates. Candidates can go through the entire application procedure in just one day at such an event, and secure a contract proposal by the end of the day. Three of these days will be held in three different locations: the first in Hasselt on 14 March, then in Leuven on 21 March, and finally in Ghent on 4 April.
