Transition Engineer (All Cities, RO)

We are looking for an experienced engineer to join our Projects Department. The team is build around two core domains (PMO & Project Engineering). The mission of the engineering roles is to deliver projects requested by our internal and external customers and, when necessary, offer 4th line support for incidents & problems of internal and external customers. Your role will be primarily focused on transition projects, aimed to ensure timely, qualitative transfer of IT infrastructures operational management towards Cegeka Nearshoring teams. You will also be involved in infrastructure management activities for our customer base as well as the delivery of technical architectures and small projects. You will need to ensure that you can organize and structure your own time and while collaborating with the other project members, deliver within the agreed parameters.

  • Define technical plans for transition projects that ensure a qualitative, secure and process ready transfer of management responsibilities towards Cegeka Nearshoring teams.
  • Actively involved in the configuration / setup of monitoring, security baseline, automations, patching etc... on target environments.
  • Prepare technical documentation (HLD / DLD etc) as well as various work instructions aimed to support operational teams in the run phase. 
  • Organize and prepare the handover of prepared environments to the run team(s) as well as hypercare period support.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the transitioning process and all adjacent processes.
  • Provide technical trainings for other levels when new projects/tools are integrated within Cegeka but also for existing tools/projects upon request
  • Actively design / implement solutions for smaller projects. (Environment upgrades / changes, Lifecycle Management, Migrations etc...)
  • Offer support for the engineering operational teams within Infra Nearshoring Division, for high priority / impact cases

What you need to succeed:

  • 3 - 6 years of experience in a similar position
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server Platforms (2008 / 2012 / 2016 / 2019) 
  • Very good knowledge of Azure IaaS & PaaS solutions - Associate level certification is a plus
  • Good knowledge of Office 365 deployments
  • Very good knowledge of virtualization technologies: ESXi & Hyper-V
  • Very good knowledge in working with and troubleshooting Active Directory Services, DNS, DHCP, IIS, File & Printing, Storage Spaces, Clustering Services, Certification Authority, Terminal Services, WSUS and SCCM, enterprise class Antivirus products, enterprise backup solutions, enterprise class storage subsystems
  • Experience with PowerShell & VBS is a plus
  • You are familiar with the ITIL Framework - certification is a plus 
  • Excellent English skills, both written and verbal
