At Cegeka, this idea comes to life through Xplorers an internal initiative that empowers employees to build communities around their passions. With the support of the company, each club is led by an event leader and open to colleagues who want to connect, create, and share experiences beyond their daily roles.
From painting and movie nights to football matches, Xplorers in Greece has grown into a vibrant network of communities that bring people closer together. What started as individual interests has evolved into shared experiences that engage more and more colleagues across the organization.
We spoke with three of our most active Xplorers clubs in Greece to explore how they started, what drives them, and how they continue to inspire others to join.
It started as something each of us enjoyed and it grew into a community that keeps bringing more people together
Vasiliki Stergiou (Film Fiesta) | George Psyllakis (Ctrl Alt Defeat Fc) Tugce Hatice Sagiroglu (PaintHub)

1. Hi Vasiliki. What inspired you to create Film Fiesta?
It actually started with the company itself. Cegeka encourages us to express our interests and build communities around the things we love, and that made me think: why not bring a bit of my own hobby into the workplace? I’ve always believed that movies are a great way to relax and connect after a long day, so creating Film Fiesta felt like the perfect opportunity to combine that passion with the kind of culture our company promotes.
2. What makes the experience special for the group?
It’s the atmosphere a mix of personalities, shared reactions, discussions, and small moments that make each experience meaningful.
3. How do these moments contribute to building stronger connections between colleagues?
Sharing a movie or series together breaks the usual routines and lets us interact as people, not just coworkers focused on deadlines. You get to see different sides of each other humor, emotion, enthusiasm and these small interactions gradually build trust and familiarity.
4. If you had to pick one movie that perfectly represents your club, what would it be and why?
I would choose “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.” It has this beautiful blend of imagination, adventure, and stepping outside your comfort zone, exactly the spirit we try to bring into Film Fiesta.

1. Hi George. How did CTRL ALT DEFEAT FC start?
It started from a casual office discussion with colleagues, we wanted to create something fun outside of work, and football felt like the perfect way to bring everyone together.
2. What does being part of the team represent for you?
It represents teamwork, ownership, and the feeling that everyone is part of something that truly requires a collective effort.
3. How does this initiative impact the way colleagues connect outside of work?
It creates a space where colleagues can connect on a more personal level beyond day-to-day tasks. Organising football matches gives us the chance to relax, communicate differently, and build stronger relationships in a fun and informal environment. It really helps break down barriers and brings people closer together as a team.
4. What’s been the best (or funniest) moment on the field so far?
Honestly, every match feels like the best one. Most games are decided in the final moments, which makes them incredibly exciting and competitive. That last-minute winning goal feeling never gets old!
1. Hi Tugce. How did PaintHub come to life?
PaintHub grew out of my personal connection to art. I’ve been painting as a hobby for a long time, and I truly value the impact of art therapy. At some point, I realized this didn’t have to stay a solo activity. I wanted to turn it into something social and collaborative, where people could come together, share that creative space. That’s how PaintHub was born: out of a desire to bring people together through art in a meaningful way.
2. What does this community mean to you and the people who join?
PaintHub is more than a painting group it’s a space where people connect on a human level, build relationships, and share meaningful experiences through creativity and teamwork. One of the most special aspects is our exhibitions, where we sometimes sell our artwork for charity. Everyone contributes! Not just by painting, but also by setting up and cleaning up the space afterward. That shared responsibility really shows teamwork and builds friendships.
3. How does PaintHub help colleagues express themselves beyond their daily work?
At work, we’re often focused on structure, deadlines, and specific roles. But in painting sessions, there are no strict rules or expectations. People can experiment, take risks, and express emotions or ideas visually, even if they’ve never painted before. PaintHub also helps us connect with our inner child, bringing back a sense of curiosity, playfulness, and freedom we often lose in our daily routines.
4. What’s one painting moment (or artwork!) from the sessions that you’ll never forget?
One moment that really stayed with me was seeing someone who initially said, “I’m not talented at all,” fully immerse themselves in a painting and end up creating something they were genuinely proud of.
