Cegeka Partners with Databricks to Drive Business Value with the Lakehouse Platform

20 October 2022

Cegeka today announced they have entered a strategic partnership with Databricks, the lakehouse company and AI company, to drive business value by unifying data and artificial intelligence (AI). Today more than 7,000 organizations worldwide rely on Databricks to enable massive-scale data engineering, collaborative data science, full-lifecycle machine learning and business analytics. Databricks provides the flexibility needed to meet the needs of our customers. Whether they work in a Microsoft Azure, Google or AWS environment. Cegeka is one of the first companies in Belgium to enter into a strategic partnership with Databricks and provides trained and certified Databricks professionals who can assist customers in taking the next step to the development of their future proof data platform.

Today, data is being increasingly used to grow business. Still, it's not easy to use data and AI to their full potential. Data is present in many different data sources and technologies. By using Databricks, we remove the biggest hurdles our clients face when addressing modern data use cases and help them to turn raw data into real insights to achieve better business outcomes.

“The Databricks platform allows us to practice our 'think big, start small' philosophy. Customers can build data foundations thanks to this platform. Start with high-value (BI) use cases and switch to more advanced use cases based on AI and ML at a later stage”, says Kristel Demotte, Global VP Data Solutions Cegeka. Databricks helps customers with a future proof approach to easily step from Pilot to production. The platform is a technology that completes our reference architecture. This allows Cegeka to offer the complete scope in terms of data. In which, for example, it becomes possible to easily plug in different data sources and to do quick and easy data processing, says Kristel Demotte. Over the past few months, we have implemented big data projects - based on Databricks – at Fluvius, KRC Genk and Q-Park.

Databricks’ Lakehouse Platform helps organizations accelerate innovation by unifying data teams with an open, scalable platform for all of their data-driven use cases. From streaming analytics and AI to business intelligence (BI). Databricks provides a modern lakehouse architecture that unifies data engineering, data science, machine learning and analytics within a single collaborative platform.
