As Monitoring Dynatrace engineer, you will play an important role in the architecture of the infrastructure. The Monitoring Team is currently transitioning from Zenoss towards Dynatrace. This involves various IT technologies, all equally crucial in the company’s daily operations. By monitoring the health of over 26,000 devices you are at the heart of Cegeka’s incident management and resolution. Resolver groups rely on the Monitoring system and your expertise for help and advise. Although you will work under normal business hours, given the fact that monitoring is crucial for all IT-related environments, you may be involved in a standby schedule that occurs outside your regular schedule.

  • Alongside your team members, you will be maintaining the Cegeka global monitoring environment and writing software to automate the internal processes
  • Design, implement, and maintain monitoring solutions using Dynatrace.
  • Develop, deploy, and maintain Dynatrace extensions (OneAgent/ActiveGate) to integrate custom technologies and data sources.
  • Configure Dynatrace dashboards, custom metrics, alerts, RUM, and synthetic monitors.
  • Define and implement observability standards and best practices across environments.
  • Troubleshooting basic and complex monitoring related issues on network and software level will help you better understand where there is still room for system improvements
  • Document monitoring architectures, extension deployments, and internal processes.
  • You will be working in close collaboration with your colleagues to ensure that service delivery to the customer is a true omni-channel experience 

What you need to succeed:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in monitoring, observability, or infrastructure/DevOps engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with Dynatrace, including: Dynatrace extension development (OneAgent and/or ActiveGate extensions). Advanced configuration: custom metrics, alerting, dashboards, service flow, RUM, synthetics.
  • Scripting comes natural to you especially since you have Python (ideally)/Bash/Powershell or any other similar language knowledge:
  • Solid understanding of modern infrastructure (Linux, Windows, Networking, Cloud, Containers). To have knowledge of common protocols (SNMP, SSH, WinRM,…) and be able to choose the appropriate to monitor a system. To understand RESTful API principles and have the ability to interact with RESTful API’s using Python. To understand YAML formatting & syntax
  • You are curious and open to learn more related to cloud-based solutions (Azure, AWS, GCP), HA/redundant setups (drbd, pacemaker) or replication technologies for databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • You feel comfortable in working with ITIL processes.
  • You have a positive mindset and you always aim to contribute to both yours and your Team’s development on all areas.
  • Ability to take non-functional requirements into account like security, performance, scalability.
  • Pro-active problem-solving attitude and willingness to take initiative.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • You are fluent in English, both writing and speaking.
