Driven by new experiences
Your car will soon be a living space, and you as a driver will be a consumer in the broadest sense. Cars will be powered by electricity, hybrid technology or hydrogen, and so, the importance of electricity, and its storage and distribution, is steadily increasing. Connectivity, independent driving and 'mobility as a service' will take manufacturers out of their comfort zones and attract IT players to the industry – even more so than the transition to other energy sources. Who else can turn mobility into a real service, with smart subsystems, robo-taxis and accessible combined transport paid for via a single account?
This evolution will obviously have far-reaching consequences in terms of production techniques, data use, security, privacy, and so on, as well as consequences for the application of AI, IoT, Blockchain... Needless to say, we will have many roles to play in the automotive sector, including as a cloud and integration partner and in application development.
