What is KubePort?

KubePort is Cegeka’s cloud-native managed container platform.

It provides a platform as a service in three layers.

Layer 1: Fully managed infrastructure

Computing, storage, network, and virtualization. All this infrastructure can be used as a managed service. KubePort is cloud-agnostic, giving you a choice between Cegeka’s on-premise infrastructure (private cloud) or public cloud infrastructure by Microsoft Azure.

Layer 2: Fully managed container orchestration

Kubernetes, basic observability, platform components (load balancer, firewall), and persistent storage. All components are provided as a managed service and can be provided via automation features within the platform.

Layer 3: Fully managed cloud-native tooling

A set of containerized, cloud-native application components to be used in conjunction with your main application containers. These components, managed by Cegeka, encompass tools for CI/CD, advanced observability, security and more. We offer a set of standard tools that are aligned with the cloud native computing foundation landscape, but we can also accommodate other tools if required.

Developers no longer have to deal with infrastructure maintenance, setting up or managing a container platform, or cloud-native tooling. KubePort manages all these tasks for them.

Kubernetes is a powerful platform for managing containerized applications, but it does not cover all the possible needs and scenarios that customers may have. That is why we aim to provide features that extend and complement the default Kubernetes capabilities, such as: Integrating the certificate system in the customer's PKI system, resulting in a consistent and compatible environment with the customer's security policies and infrastructure. SEC

KubePort provides a compliant and secure platform. The platform complies with International Standard on Assurance Engagements (ISAE), is available in a private cloud for confidentiality reasons when required, and implements CIS benchmark recommendations. Inbound and outbound traffic is fully secured by a managed firewall. It can also scan container images for vulnerabilities, as well as runtime, compliancy, and EDR scanning. It is compatible with all the Cegeka security products.

The platform comes with high availability SLAs, fixed release and patch management processes, monitoring to proactively resolve incidents, and autoscaling to ensure that your applications always have access to the necessary resources. KubePort provides a stable, consistent, and managed infrastructure you can build on regardless the chosen cloud model (Private or Public).

We have an extensive release management lifecycle in place to ensure that your KubePort environment remains up to date. The operating system and firewall (layer 1), Kubernetes and monitoring tools (layer 2), and cloud-native tooling (layer 3) are frequently patched and updated.

Secure

KubePort provides an end-to-end secure environment for your cloud-native applications. A managed firewall secures ingress and egress access with rules based on the principle of least privilege. Container images are (optionally) continuously scanned for active vulnerabilities and are CIS compliant.

Industry-standard

To bring some order to the complex cloud-native tooling landscape, KubePort offers a carefully curated set of industry-standard tools as a service. You have access to tools for monitoring/observability, security, CI/CD, and supporting components.

Configurable

The KubePort platform can be customized to fit your needs. During setup, you can select the public or private cloud, redundancy level, number of clusters, and number of nodes per cluster, as well as extra tools. As your operations expand, you can still add new clusters or nodes later on. You also have complete flexibility to add your own tools.
