Founded in 1908, Bedeschi S.p.A. is a historic Italian company based in Limena (Padua), now one of the leading international players in the design and manufacture of complete systems for handling bulk materials.
Starting out as a manufacturer of brick and tile machines, Bedeschi has evolved its know-how to become a benchmark in sectors such as cement, coal, fertilizers, iron ore, and materials for the food industry.
With more than 98% of revenue generated from exports and a direct presence in Europe, America, Australia, and Asia, Bedeschi operates as an international group with its own production facilities and a constantly evolving organization.
The need for change
In recent years, business growth and strong international expansion, combined with the limits of the legacy system, made the existing application ecosystem unsustainable.
The core challenge lies in the very DNA of Bedeschi: a project based, Engineer-to-Order production model, where each plant is a unique, tailor-made solution developed without standard price lists or catalogs.
This high level of customization creates significant operational complexity and requires flexibility and total control.
Digital transformation became the answer to ensure a single source of truth, enabling end to end governance of timelines, costs, and margins for every project.
The collaboration with Cegeka
Bedeschi partnered with Cegeka to adopt Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management, transitioning to a single, centralized cloud ERP.
The focus of the collaboration was to standardize core processes and integrate the supply chain through the Vendor Collaboration Portal, balancing Microsoft standards with the specific needs of Bedeschi’s engineertoorder business.

To face the challenges of a complex and fastgrowing business, Bedeschi chose Cegeka as its strategic partner to embark on a digital transformation journey built on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management. The selected platform ensures an end to end vision and acts as an enabler for the company’s international expansion.

In recent years, business growth and a strong drive towards internationalization, combined with the limitations of the legacy system, have made the previous application ecosystem unsustainable.
The main critical issues addressed included:
- Obsolete and heavily customized ERP: Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009, unsupported and burdened by years of layered customizations
- Complex project management: Difficulty maintaining end to end control of costs, progress, and margins in a highly customized engineering context
- Integration & Standardization: Need to harmonize processes (finance, procurement, production, logistics) without losing flexibility
- Collaboration & Scalability: Need for improved information exchange with suppliers and a cloud platform scalable across international sites
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management
To address these challenges, Bedeschi chose Cegeka as its strategic partner to embark on a digital transformation journey based on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management.
The implemented solution included:
- A single, centralized cloud ERP covering finance, sales, procurement, warehouse, shipping, production, quality, and project management
- Vendor Collaboration Portal, introduced with a gradual (rolling) approach to support suppliers through the operational shift
- Strong alignment with Microsoft standards, reducing customizations while preserving necessary adaptations for Bedeschi’s Engineer-to-Order model
The stages of a successful project
The project was structured into clear phases:
- Initial analysis (BPSA – 2022): Mapping existing processes and identifying gaps against Dynamics 365 standards
- Design & implementation: Defining end to end flows, migrating from AX 2009, activating core modules and the Vendor Portal
- Testing, hypercare & go live: Functional and integration testing followed by intensive user support
- Operational launch: Go live at headquarters on January 4, 2024, without any operational disruption

Approach
Cegeka supported Bedeschi not only technically but also in organizational change management, helping the company strike the right balance between standardization and business specificity.
The project required close coordination between Bedeschi’s internal teams and Cegeka’s specialists, with a strong focus on change management and integrating technical and organizational capabilities.

The implementation of Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management ensured operational continuity without impacting production, shipping, or billing, delivering tangible and measurable benefits:
- Control & efficiency: Improved end to end control of projects (costs and margins) and elimination of legacy system limitations
- Global scalability: More robust processes ready to support international operational expansion
- Future evolution: With headquarters stabilized, the next steps include extending the solution to subsidiaries in the Americas, Australia, and Germany, along with further automation of Finance processes
