Toyota Motor Europe (TME) is the operating subsidiary that oversees all operations of the Toyota Motor Corporation in Europe and Western Asia. Its operations include research and development, manufacturing, sales, marketing, after-sales, and corporate functions. The company is headquartered in Brussels, Belgium. Toyota’s operations in Europe began in 1963.

Challenges and objectives

TME’s Connected Technologies division works with their multimedia service providers to provide new and updated Connected Services―including multimedia software and navigation maps―to European markets. The division’s purpose is to deliver reliable and intuitive services that meet customer needs and provide tangible benefits that improve the in-car experience with Toyota and Lexus vehicles. Before releasing any of these products to customers, a series of test scenarios needs to be conducted in a lab (test benches) and on the road (Karashi road tests).
