Cegeka acquires Lean Projects, a Swiss software company specializing in ERP solutions for the print and packaging industry built on Microsoft Dynamics 365. With this acquisition, Cegeka expands its portfolio of industry solutions and continues its international growth strategy. Together, the two companies aim to build a leading international position in business applications for the print and packaging industry, built on the Microsoft platform.
For more than two decades, Lean Projects has been developing and implementing software closely aligned with the operational realities of print and packaging companies. Its solution is used by industrial players worldwide and supports the increasing operational complexity of modern package printing, converting, folding boxes, flexibles and label printing.
Strengthening industry solutions on Microsoft Dynamics
The acquisition fits within Cegeka’s broader strategy of building specialized industry solutions on top of Microsoft Dynamics 365. Following earlier initiatives in sectors such as pharma and life sciences, Lean Projects strengthens Cegeka’s offering for manufacturing companies in the print and packaging sector.
Cegeka and Lean Projects have worked together for several years on international projects. That collaboration confirmed that both companies share the same approach: starting from the specific processes of a sector rather than from generic software.
“Lean Projects has built a strong reputation with its industry-specific solution that is deeply embedded in the core operations of its customers,” says Stijn Geeroms, Global VP Business Solutions at Cegeka. “By combining that expertise with Cegeka’s global footprint and capabilities, we can provide stronger support, ensure long-term continuity, and help customers take the next step in scaling and innovating their solution.”
Continuity of expertise, added strength for customers
With the acquisition, Cegeka brings not only a solution on board, but also a highly specialized team. The experts at Lean Projects will continue to focus on their niche expertise and the further development of the solution, supported by Cegeka’s international delivery and support capabilities.
For existing customers, day‑to‑day operations remain unchanged. They will continue working with the same software and the same specialists, while gaining the assurance of a larger international group behind the solution. Existing partnerships that Lean Projects has within the Microsoft ecosystem will be maintained and continued within Cegeka.
Cegeka will invest in the further development of the solution, focusing on standardization, reusable templates, and targeted innovation. These efforts are aimed at addressing the specific needs of the print and packaging sector and accelerating implementations.
“We have built our solutions step by step over the years and grown steadily to where we are today,” says Andreas Jegerlehner, CEO at Lean Projects AG. “Joining Cegeka feels like a natural next step. It allows us to continue doing what we do today, with additional support to develop our solutions sustainably for the long term.”
Establishing a foothold in Switzerland
The current owners of Lean Projects will remain active within Cegeka, ensuring continuity of expertise. Lean Projects is headquartered in Switzerland and serves customers worldwide.
Through the acquisition, Cegeka also gains its first operational presence in Switzerland.
