"An 'out of the box solution that is still working perfectly"
How are things going with the FMCG companies that called on Cegeka's services 10 years ago? Well, it seems they are getting along just fine, particularly if we look at the activities of two early users of Fearless Leader. Vache Bleue, Belgian cheese specialist since 1927, is still a prominent player and is available in almost all supermarkets across the country. United Soft Drinks, with brands such as AA Drink and Raak, serves the Dutch, Belgian, German and French markets. “Fearless Leader is still accessible, user-friendly and works perfectly”.
It says a great deal about the stability of the app and the FMCG knowledge that has been applied since the start. Both Vache Bleue and United Soft Drinks only use a fraction of the options, primarily the applications for product strategy and analysis. “We rarely see the people from Cegeka. And, as far as I’m concerned, that means that everything is running smoothly. Our field workers use Fearless Leader to carry out their merchandising activities in a highly efficient and well managed way. They conduct store checks, register facings and prices, calculate the market share and so on”, says Jef Leysen who has been working for Vache Bleue for 32 years and who currently manages the field workers.
"No programming work required"
“At the time, we decided to work with Fearless Leader as an ‘out of the box’ application to which very few adjustments had to be made and which worked out cheaper than the expensive tools from other suppliers. Over the course of the years, there have been adjustments and parameters have changed but no programming work has been required.”
"Simple and organised reports"
Jaco Hermans from United Soft Drinks concurs. Fearless Leader was chosen, at the time, in order to monitor commercial employees but also as a genuine management information system working on the basis of the Microsoft Dynamics CRM: “We still use the system selectively for planning, visit reports and management information. In terms of ordering, we currently only use Fearless Leader for ordering internal stock. Management reports are run weekly and this works perfectly for us. With Fearless Leader you can easily run well-structured reports, including visit analyses, competition analyses, range analyses, etc.
"We keep an eye on new opportunities"
Fearless Leader has been expanded to include a range of new functions over the years. Jaco Hermans from United Soft Drinks is currently so busy – “a good sign, luckily” – that he has no time to spend on these developments. Jef Leysen is able to pay them a bit more attention: “We work together really well and the collaboration runs very smoothly. Cegeka knows that Vache Bleue is limited in size and that we only use certain components in the app. But we keep an eye out for the latest evolutions which could save us time, including the ‘share of shelf’ calculation via photo.”
