The Web Accessibility Specialist will be responsible for evaluating and improving the accessibility of web applications.
He or she will be responsible for conducting accessibility audits, both automated and manual, to ensure applications comply with international WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) standards at levels A and AA.
Key responsabilities:
- Conduct web accessibility audits to assess application compliance with WCAG 2.1 / 2.2 Level A & AA standards.
- Perform automated testing using specialized tools such as Accessibility Insights, Google Lighthouse, SiteImprove, or other similar tools.
- Analyze reports generated by these tools, identify accessibility issues, and formulate clear and actionable recommendations for remediation.
- Conduct manual audits using specific hardware and software (screen readers, adapted keyboards, alternative navigation tools, etc.) to detect issues not covered by automated tools.
- Document audit results and produce detailed reports including findings, priorities, and action plans.
- Collaborate closely with development, UX/UI, and product teams to integrate accessibility from the design phase (shift-left accessibility).
- Contribute to awareness and training initiatives for internal teams on digital accessibility best practices.
Your profile:
- Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.1 / 2.2 standards (Level A & AA).
- Proficiency with automated auditing tools (Accessibility Insights, Google Lighthouse, SiteImprove, axe DevTools, etc.).
- Experience with assistive technologies (screen readers such as NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, alternative keyboards, etc.).
- Experience in functional testing.
- Ability to interpret automated scan results and derive relevant technical recommendations.
- Understanding of accessibility best practices in HTML, CSS, ARIA, and JavaScript.
- Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to simplify technical topics.
- Strong writing and communication skills, particularly for audit report writing and presenting findings.
- Fluent in French (Level C) and good English skills (Level B).
- Bachelor’s degree (BAC+3) in IT.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Knowledge of EN 301 549, Section 508, or other accessibility standards.
- Experience in an Agile environment.
- Accessibility certification (e.g., IAAP CPACC, WAS, or equivalent).
- ISTQB certification.
