CIPM Training
The CIPM program is the first global certification in privacy program management. It was developed by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) in conjunction with globally recognized privacy experts. This two-day training provides guidance on implementing a privacy program framework, managing the privacy program operational lifecycle and structuring a knowledgeable, high-performing privacy team- regardless of jurisdiction or industry.
The CIPM training is appropriate for anyone involved with data protection processes and programs: Data Protection Officers, Data Protection Managers, Auditors, Legal Compliance Officers, Security Managers, Information Managers. It strengthens your knowledge and develops skills for establishing, maintaining and managing a comprehensive data protection program.
Costs and practical info
Two full days of live online training at €1750 including toolkit (consisting of the Class textbook: Privacy Program Management, Tools for Managing Privacy Within Your Organization, Sample questions and Participant guide) as well as a CIPM Certification exam voucher and 1 year of complimentary IAPP Membership with access to the DPO Ready Toolkit and Resources. All prices are VAT excluded.
The live online format enables you to attend the training remotely from any location through a virtual classroom (MS Teams session). It saves money and preserves valuable time while still allowing you to experience the same real-time exchange of ideas of a physical environment or classroom.
The standard language of this course is English.
Take two IAPP training courses (CIPM in combination with CIPP/E or CIPT live online) and receive a discount: €3150 for both trainings.
Certification details
Included in the price is the CIPM Certification exam voucher entitling its holder to take the applicable certification exam.
All exams can be scheduled online or in person: the IAPP offers computer-based certification exams at over 6,000 testing centers worldwide. Or, test at home or in your workspace with remote proctoring.
The exam consists of 90 multiple-choice questions, has an allotted time of 2.5 hours with a 15-minute break.

Course content
Module 1: Introduction to privacy program management
Identifies privacy program management responsibilities and describes the role of accountability in privacy program management.
Module 2: Privacy governance
Examines considerations for developing and implementing a privacy program, including the position of the privacy function within the organization, role of the DPO, program scope and charter, privacy strategy, support and ongoing involvement of key functions and privacy frameworks.
Module 3: Applicable laws and regulations
Discusses the regulatory environment, common elements across jurisdictions and strategies for aligning compliance with organizational strategy.
Module 4: Data assessments
Relates practical processes for creating and using data inventories/maps, gap analyses, privacy assessments, privacy impact assessments/data protection impact assessments and vendor assessments.
Module 5: Policies
Describes common types of privacy-related policies, outlines components and offers strategies for implementation.
Module 6: Data subject rights
Discusses operational considerations for communicating and ensuring data subject rights, including privacy notice, choice and consent, access and rectification, data portability, and erasure.
Module 7: Training and awareness
Outlines strategies for developing and implementing privacy training and awareness programs.
Module 8: Protecting personal information
Examines a holistic approach to protecting personal information through privacy by design.
Module 9: Data breach incident plans
Provides guidance on planning for and responding to a data security incident or breach.
Module 10: Monitoring and auditing program performance
Relates common practices for monitoring, measuring, analyzing and auditing privacy program performance.
