So, who is Durmont?
Based in Austria, Durmont has over 50 years of experience producing high-quality tufted carpets for the automotive industry. With a strong focus on quality, sustainability, and tailored solutions, Durmont supplies Tier 1 and Tier 2 customers across Europe, as well as in South Africa and Mexico. As the company continued to grow, one thing became clear: it was time for a modern ERP system.
From isolated tools to an integrated platform
Durmont had been using Microsoft NAV for accounting and a separate system for production. This setup made it difficult to track material flows and limited the ability to generate meaningful insights. The company needed an all-in-one system — and found the right fit with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

Structured, process-oriented implementation
The project kicked off with a company-wide process and requirement analysis. This was followed by specification, implementation, testing phases, and finally the go-live, despite some delays and a change in the internal project lead. Looking ahead: focusing on BI and AI
Durmont is currently using BI4 Controlling to analyze data directly from Dynamics 365 Business Central. The company is exploring the use of Power BI next and is evaluating AI applications with a balanced view of both the opportunities and risks.
