ROBOTIC PROCESS AUTOMATION (RPA)
The customer used to have a system where the working hours of external persons were processed in different time registration systems. Working hours that were first registered in the source system had to be recalculated in Excel and retyped in an HR tool. The information processing required multiple labour-intensive and manual operations.
The process took an average of one full hour and was carried out at least 150 times a month. Due to the recalculation and typing of information, errors were frequently made during the process. Importantly: the information was structured, in that the rules and conditions were set in advance. There were no exceptions in the process.
With the help of RPA, part of the process was automated. Both the conversion of the submitted working hours into the time registration system and the input of that data into the HR tool will from now on be performed by an RPA bot. Because a large part of the highly error-prone process has been automated, the data quality has increased considerably.
