  • As a Snowflake Data Engineer, you work closely with colleagues on data and AI projects for companies across various sectors.
  • You develop and maintain robust, scalable ELT pipelines with dbt (including natively via dbt Projects on Snowflake), orchestrated with Apache Airflow or Snowflake Tasks, Streams and Dynamic Tables, with a strong focus on automation and reusability.
  • You ingest data from source systems with Snowpipe (Streaming) and Snowflake Openflow / Apache NiFi, and transform it according to business logic into reliable data models on the central data platform. Data quality and robustness are key.
  • You help build open lakehouse architectures with Apache Iceberg tables and Iceberg catalogs (Horizon Catalog, Snowflake Open Catalog/Polaris).
  • You support domain teams following data mesh principles and deliver data products through secure data sharing and the Internal Marketplace.
  • You safeguard governance (RBAC, masking and row access policies, tagging) and performance and cost (warehouse sizing, resource monitors, query profiling).
  • You automate deployments through CI/CD and use CoCo (Cortex Code) to develop faster and better.
  • You translate functional and technical requirements into concrete data solutions.
  • Cegeka is a Snowflake partner, giving you direct access to their solution architects for technical challenges or specific questions.

What you need to succeed:

  • You have extensive experience as a Data Engineer or in a hands-on data role within complex enterprise environments.
  • You work with Snowflake daily and master SQL and Python (Snowpark).
  • You have hands-on experience with dbt and with orchestration through Airflow or Snowflake Tasks and Dynamic Tables.
  • You have experience with data integration through Snowpipe and Snowflake Openflow / Apache NiFi.
  • You are familiar with Apache Iceberg tables and Iceberg catalogs (Horizon Catalog, Snowflake Open Catalog/Polaris, catalog integrations with e.g. AWS Glue or Unity Catalog).
  • You know multi-cloud environments (Azure, AWS) and integrate them with Snowflake (storage integrations, external volumes, private connectivity).
  • You work with CI/CD: version control in Git, automated deployments with Snowflake CLI and/or Terraform, and testing in the pipeline.
  • You are familiar with Snowflake CoCo (Cortex Code), Snowflake's AI coding agent.
  • You know Snowflake governance and cost management (RBAC, masking and row access policies, warehouse sizing, resource monitors).
  • You have a solid background in data modeling (Data Vault, Kimball) and apply it in a scalable, maintainable way in production.
  • You work according to a hybrid employment policy: from the Cegeka office near your place of residence (Ghent, Brussel, Hasselt, Antwerp, or Leuven), combined with working from home and on site at the customer.
  • Nice to have: SnowPro Core / SnowPro Advanced: Data Engineer.
  • You have excellent communication skills in English. Knowledge of Dutch and French is a strong asset.
