The IT and OT landscapes are constantly evolving, driven by the emergence of new technologies. This internship aims to tackle the challenge of remotely monitoring network equipment without relying on a separate management LAN. Instead, we aim to explore the possibilities of using sensors that can directly communicate with network devices through technologies such as Thread, LoRaWAN, and other potential technologies. During this internship, your main tasks will include:
Develop a solution that allows us to remotely monitor our network equipment using IoT devices, with security being a crucial component of this solution.
Define and investigate the technologies you identify that meet this requirement. What are the pros and cons of each technology, and how do they work?
Set up a Proof of Concept (POC) environment, secured within a firewalled environment, with the necessary security mechanisms. The design can be physical or virtual. If costs are limited, we can provide you with the required physical equipment.
You will have the opportunity to work with technologies from various suppliers (Cisco, Fortinet, etc.) to implement your POC.
Document your proposal in a research report.
What you need to succeed:
Are you studying for a bachelor's degree in Applied Informatics or a master's degree in Computer Science? Check!
You are communicative and write fluently in Dutch.
You have a passion for networking and security.
You have basic knowledge of routing and switching.
You are very eager to start this challenging internship.
