Java Application Architect Public Sector

• You contribute to the architectural vision for strategic customer programmes and translate complex business challenges into feasible, future-proof solutions.
• You take ownership in solutioning and make well-considered trade-offs around technology, scalability, maintainability, and time-to-value.
• You leverage your strong Java and cloud expertise to design robust application architectures within complex transformation programmes.
• You apply modern architectural principles such as domain-driven design and hexagonal architecture, ensuring alignment between domain, application, and platform.
• You bridge business and delivery: you clearly substantiate technical decisions and communicate effectively at a senior level with customers, stakeholders, and delivery teams.
• You guide teams in implementing the chosen architecture and ensure the vision is effectively realised in practice.
• You play a key role in presales and proposal trajectories, translating opportunities into technically sound and feasible solutions.
• You collaborate with senior peers, sales, delivery teams, and expert communities to strengthen knowledge sharing and embed architectural quality across the organisation.
• You create visible added value, both for customers and internally, by providing direction, building trust, and delivering sustainable impact.
• You work from Cegeka Leuven and in Brussels, shoulder to shoulder with our customers, combined with working from home.

• You bring valuable experience as an architect within the public or social security sector.
• You have strong experience in Java ecosystems (e.g. Spring Boot, microservices, API-first architectures).
• You have experience with hexagonal architecture and understand how to decouple domain logic from infrastructure.
• You have a broad vision on application architecture and Cloud (Azure).
• You can clearly communicate complex technical concepts to business stakeholders.
• You think both conceptually and pragmatically.
• You explore and integrate new technologies such as AI (e.g. generative AI, machine learning use cases) where relevant for the customer context.
• You have experience with presales or are eager to further develop in this area.
• You take ownership and build trust with customers.
