What work experience did you bring with you before joining Cegeka?
"Before starting at Cegeka as an Application Consultant, I worked as a finance consultant, focusing on financial analysis, process optimization, and helping clients navigate complex financial challenges. Afterwards, I worked as a Commercial Advisor at a bank, where I honed my client-facing and commercial skills. These experiences now form the foundation of my consultancy work: I have a solid understanding of financial processes and the ability to effectively guide clients."

What motivated you to make the switch to the Switch to ERP program and pursue a role as an Application Consultant?
"I wanted to combine my passion for finance with technology. The Switch to ERP program offered the perfect opportunity to do just that. From my very first conversation with Cegeka, I felt a strong connection. Their emphasis on innovation, customer focus, and personal development aligned perfectly with my own goals. So, rather than feeling like a risk, the transition felt like a great opportunity."

What doubts did you have before making this career change?
"Any career switch comes with doubts. I wondered how quickly I’d grasp the technical aspects and if my finance background would be enough. But Cegeka created a supportive learning environment. Thanks to their comprehensive training and strong support, I quickly gained confidence in my new role."

What do you find most rewarding about your current role?
"The impact I can make. As an Application Consultant, I help businesses improve their financial processes using Microsoft Dynamics 365. Seeing how a change leads to real efficiency gains for clients is incredibly fulfilling. Additionally, the variety of projects and continuous learning opportunities keep the role exciting and engaging."

What training or education was offered to help you feel confident in your current role?
"At the start, I completed an intensive four-week training program focused on Microsoft Dynamics 365, project methodologies, and hands-on client case studies. Afterward, I was paired with a ‘buddy’ who supported me during my first few months. That personal guidance, combined with Cegeka’s strong culture of knowledge sharing, truly made a difference for me."

What does a typical workday look like for you now?
"My days are quite varied. We usually begin with a team meeting to align on priorities. During the current ‘explore’ phase, I facilitate workshops with clients where we analyze and optimize their financial processes together. We then translate those insights into concrete configurations within the ERP system. In between, there are internal meetings and client sessions. This blend of client interaction, analysis, and technical implementation keeps the work dynamic and engaging."

Do you have any advice for people who are unsure about their career choices?
"Absolutely—focus on what energizes you. Don’t let your current background hold you back. Skills are often more transferable than you realize. At Cegeka, you have the opportunity to reorient yourself and grow within a technical environment, even without an IT background. If you’re eager to learn and willing to invest in your development, there are plenty of opportunities. And that makes it all worthwhile."
