Are you an experienced SQL Server Database Administrator who enjoys working in complex enterprise environments where availability, performance, and reliability are critical? Do you thrive on solving technical challenges, automating processes, and continuously improving database platforms? Within our Hybrid Cloud division, we are looking for a Senior SQL DBA to strengthen our database operations team on a 2-year fixed-term contractor engagement. You will be part of a broader team of approximately 30 infrastructure professionals, including a dedicated SQL team of around 10 SQL DBAs, where collaboration, knowledge sharing, complementarity, and collegiality are highly valued. This role combines deep technical expertise with a strong customer-focused mindset. You'll help manage business-critical SQL Server environments while contributing to modernization initiatives, cloud migrations, and high-availability solutions.#LI-RC3

  • Install, configure, administer, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server environments (2016-2025)
  • Monitor and optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and performance analysis
  • Design, implement, and maintain High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions, including: Always On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, Log Shipping, SQL Replication
  • Manage backup and recovery strategies and participate in DR testing activities
  • Troubleshoot database incidents, performance bottlenecks, and platform issues in business-critical environments
  • Automate operational and administrative tasks using T-SQL, PowerShell, Ansible, or similar technologies
  • Collaborate with application and development teams to design efficient database structures, stored procedures, and queries
  • Ensure database security, access management, auditing, and compliance requirements are met
  • Plan and execute SQL Server upgrades, migrations, and platform modernization projects
  • Support cloud transformation initiatives, including migrations to Azure SQL services
  • Perform capacity planning and provide recommendations for platform improvements
  • Maintain technical documentation, standards, and operational procedures in Confluence.

What you need to succeed:

  • Strong experience as a SQL Server DBA in enterprise environments
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server administration
  • Hands-on experience with: Always On Availability Groups, Windows Failover Clustering, Log Shipping, SQL Replication, Backup and recovery strategies
  • Proven experience with performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting
  • Strong scripting and automation skills using T-SQL and PowerShell
  • Experience with Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, or SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines
  • Experience planning and executing database migrations to Azure
  • Understanding of database security, auditing, and access management
  • Experience working in high-volume, highly available, or 24/7 production environments
  • Has a strong analytical and problem-solving mindset

  • Is communicative and enjoys collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Has a customer-oriented attitude and takes ownership of issues from start to finish
