We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Storage Engineer to join our Storage Team. You will act as a subject matter expert (SME) in SAN technologies, with a strong focus on Brocade Fibre Channel environments, and will play a key role in the design, implementation, and operation of enterprise storage platforms. You will be responsible for ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability across SAN fabrics and storage systems, while driving automation and continuous improvement initiatives. #LI-AP1

  • SAN Engineering & Operations
  • Design, implement, and manage Brocade SAN fabrics across multiple data centers
  • Configure and maintain: SANnav management platform, MAPS (Monitoring and Alerting Policy Suite), Virtual Fabrics / Logical & Virtual Switches
  • Perform zoning, fabric optimization, firmware upgrades, and lifecycle management
  • Troubleshoot complex SAN performance and connectivity issues
  • Enterprise Storage Management
  • Implement and manage enterprise storage solutions using: IBM storage platforms (e.g., SVC, FlashSystem) or HPE storage systems (e.g., Primera, Alletra)
  • Ensure optimal performance, capacity planning, and high availability
  • Lead storage migrations, expansions, and technology refresh projects
  • Architecture & Design
  • Define and document storage and SAN architecture standards and best practices
  • Translate business and customer requirements into technical solutions
  • Collaborate with compute, virtualization, and network teams on integrated designs
  • Automation & Scripting
  • Develop scripts and automation to optimize operations and reduce manual effort
  • Automate provisioning, monitoring, and reporting workflows
  • Integrate storage and SAN management into orchestration platforms
  • Operations & Continuous Improvement
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures
  • Create and maintain operational procedures, documentation, and runbooks
  • Identify opportunities for service improvement, standardization, and automation
  • Provide technical coaching and guidance to junior engineers
  • Participate in standby availability schedules (rotation ~ every 8 weeks)
  • Participate in planned maintenance windows

What you need to succeed:

  • Core Technical Expertise
  • 10+ years experience in enterprise storage and SAN environments
  • Deep expertise in Brocade SAN technology, including: SANnav, MAPS, Virtual Fabrics / Logical Switches
  • Strong experience with Fibre Channel technologies and SAN design principles
  • Storage Platforms
  • Proven hands-on experience with: IBM Storage (e.g., Spectrum Virtualize, FlashSystem, SVC) or HPE Storage (e.g., Primera, Alletra)
  • Solid understanding of block storage, replication, and data protection 
  • Automation & Scripting
  • Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash)
  • Experience with automation/orchestration tools (e.g., Ansible, Jenkins or similar)
  • Ability to integrate APIs from storage and SAN platforms 
  • Soft Skills & Profile
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting mindset
  • Ability to work independently and lead complex technical initiatives
  • Team player with mentoring and coaching capabilities
  • Passion for IT and strong interest in continuous self-development
  • Working Model & Flexibility
  • Hybrid working model: combination of home office and on-site presence
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (e.g., yearly trip to Belgium for trainings/workshops)
  • Comfortable working in an international and distributed team environment
