Databricks Data Architect - Data & AI

• In your role as Databricks Data Architect, you will work closely with experienced colleagues to set up Data Platforms in Databricks. Based on a thorough analysis of customer requirements (technical and business stakeholders), you will work with your colleagues on proposals that cover technological, commercial, and financial aspects. You will ensure a clear and attractive presentation for customers.
• You design and implement modern Lakehouse architectures based on Databricks best practices, including Medallion architecture, Delta Lake, and Unity Catalog governance models.
• You define strategies around data governance, security, data lineage, data sharing, and compliance within cloud data platforms.
• You support organizations in implementing Data & AI use cases, including Machine Learning, Generative AI, and MLOps / LLMOps patterns.
• You define platform engineering and DevOps strategies for data workloads, including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and environment lifecycle management.
• You find a complex Business & IT environment challenging. As an architect, you will determine the architecture of the future Data Platform together with the customer and you have final responsibility for this. You will translate the existing architecture into a concrete roadmap and a long-term plan with a clear and proactive vision for the future. You involve stakeholders effectively and gather as much information as possible to fully understand your customers' needs.  
• You play a key role in proposal and tender processes, respond to RFP’s, and develop comprehensive business cases.  
• You continuously develop your technical skills by obtaining and maintaining Microsoft and Databricks certifications. You stay up to date with the latest innovations.  
• Cegeka is a Databricks partner. This gives you direct access to their solution architects for technical challenges or specific questions.

• You are an expert in modern data and AI platform architecture with at least 6 years of experience in data-related positions, preferably with experience in Solution Architecture, and you have in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Azure Data & AI Services (Data Lake, Data Warehouse, Data Factory, Fabric, Azure Databricks, etc.) and other technologies, frameworks, and platforms (Snowflake, Huggingface, Cloud native setups, ...).
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, PySpark, Powershell, Terraform, GitHub, large-scale and real-time data platforms, and DataOps is a major plus.
• You are able to identify, analyze, and translate customers’ business needs (both at C-level and within technical teams) into concrete solutions. You work in a results-driven manner and strive to deliver added value to your customers.
• You have a keen eye for opportunities and can inspire customers to embrace new technologies. Your persuasiveness and passion are invaluable in this process.
• You naturally inspire trust and aim to collaborate with your customers as effectively as possible.
• You are structured and analytical, you can easily make abstractions and you have a problem-solving mindset.
• Strong communication skills (in both Dutch and English), customer focus, and attention to detail are also essential for this role.
• Through your coaching style, you are able to help other project members grow and perform at a higher level.
• You work according to a hybrid employment policy: from the Cegeka office near your place of residence (Ghent, Hasselt, Antwerp, or Leuven), combined with working from home and on site at the customer.
