Hey student! Are you looking for an internship for the 2025–2026 academic year? Do you have a passion for new technologies? Are you someone who’s eager to turn theoretical knowledge into practical experience? Then we have the perfect internship assignment for you! In this internship, we challenge you to upgrade the IT infrastructure and security of a fictional SME to the latest standards. The company consists of a headquarters and two small satellite locations. They also want to migrate their application and web servers to the cloud. You’ll be working in a greenfield situation, designing a complete network setup within the Fortinet landscape. Naturally, all locations must be able to communicate securely and robustly with each other and with the cloud. Due to previous incidents, the company wants to use the latest technologies in terms of security. For network access control, they’ve chosen Aruba ClearPass, which identifies users and assigns the correct roles and access rights. During this internship, you’ll work on the following tasks:

  • Designing a network with FortiGates and the public cloud (Azure), based on the Cegeka Secure Network Design.
  • Investigating how to enforce access to the network and devices using Aruba ClearPass.
  • Implementing your design in the Cegeka lab and in Azure.
  • Exploring various next-gen firewall features such as SSL Inspection, Antivirus, Web Filtering, and IPS.
  • Documenting all steps throughout the internship.
  • Presenting your work to the team during a final presentation.

What you need to succeed:

  • Are you studying a Bachelor's in Applied Computer Science or a Master's in Computer Science? Check!
  • You have a passion for networking & security.
  • People describe you as structured, communicative, autonomous, and proactive? Perfect!
  • You’re highly motivated to start this exciting internship.
