UX / UI Designer - nexuzhealth

Software & Analysis
Professional, Freelancer

Does digital blood flow through your veins? Do you have a passion for user interface and user experience design, and do you know how to convert your talent into clever, intuitive designs? Then nexuzhealth has a tailor-made challenge for you!  Nexuzhealth is looking for a passionate UI (and UX) Designer who wants to help build the future of healthcare.  Based in Hasselt (Corda Campus), Leuven (UZ Leuven), Ghent or Antwerp, combined with teleworking, you will work in a no-nonsense environment where mutual respect, appreciation and transparency are self-evident. Nexuzhealth is an IT company that builds digital platforms for better healthcare. For hospitals and care institutions, we build and maintain Clinical Workstation (KWS), a software platform for supporting medical care and managing electronic patient records. We help our clients with the implementation and optimisation of the application in their environment. Today, +30 institutions are already using the EHR and +7.7 million patients are known to our platforms. We are also currently expanding our software for GPs and home care nurses by building a completely new platform that will bring healthcare into the cloud. In doing so, we are using the latest technologies: Google Go(Lang) and Cloudspanner. We are also laying the foundation for hospitals and healthcare institutions to switch over later.  We have the ambition to support a community of users and patients in their operation and cooperation. Who knows, maybe you already have the mynexuzhealth app on your smartphone? Building an application that meets the needs of the end user, as well as intuitive interfaces are very important for the success of this challenge. We are therefore looking for a driven UX/UI designer who wants to immerse himself in health care and who can work out creative solutions together with the team.

  • You make low- and high-fidelity mock-ups for websites, applications and campaigns of nexuzhealth and this for both desktop and mobile devices.
  • You work together with analysts, developers, product managers and designers to work out intuitive solutions in which the user is central. You take technical and business requirements into account.
  • You apply branding guidelines when designing applications and expand these when necessary.
  • You will contribute to the creation of a style guide and design system that will be used to achieve consistent design and usability throughout the various applications of nexuzhealth.
  • You unleash your creativity to develop a concept into a usable design.
  • You develop wireframes into attractive and functional interactive designs with the aim of achieving maximum usability.
  • You translate wireframes into quality user interfaces which serve as a basis for the development of applications in an agile development team.
  • You support the developers with your design expertise.
  • You participate in research into the needs and expectations of end users: journey mapping, benchmarking, expert reviews, workshops, usability testing, etc.
  • In addition to new projects, you are also responsible for maintenance of existing projects.

What you need to succeed:

  • You have a Bachelor or Master's degree (interaction design, graphic design,...).
  • You appreciate and understand the power of a "design thinking" process and how to apply it.
  • You have an eye for good design and a passion for all kinds of interface design: from a powerful scalable design system to small micro-interactions.
  • You design for consistency, but you can also challenge the rules without reducing usability.
  • You are creative, but do not lose sight of usability and technological limitations.
  • You follow new trends closely and look for ways to make the user's life easier.
  • You can easily empathise with the customer.
  • You are communicative, planful and stress-resistant.
  • You show commitment and can think along with solutions.
  • You have insight and knowledge in the following areas: Interaction design, UI conventions and patterns for desktop and mobile applications, usability conventions and User Centered Design methodologies
  • You are familiar with tools such as: Interface Design tools (e.g. Sketch, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, ...), Interaction Design tools (e.g. Invision, Principle,...)
  • You work with driven scrum teams consisting of functional analysts, developers, product designers and a project leader.
  • You actively share your knowledge and contribute to the continuous improvement of the team's operation.
  • You speak fluent Dutch and English.

What are we offering:

  • We offer you an interesting job in a fast-growing company with growth opportunities.
  • You will be part of a passionate and dynamic team.
  • You will receive an attractive salary in accordance with your experience.
  • You will enjoy extra-legal benefits (meal vouchers, hospitalisation and group insurance, company car with fuel card, mobile phone subscription, etc.).
  • Your workplace is Leuven (UZ-Leuven), Hasselt (Corda Campus), Ghent or Antwerp Berchem, depending on your preference. Partially remote working is possible.
