Within our Connected Health division we are looking to expand the team working for our client Viollier with a Java developer. For Viollier we build, maintain and implement high quality lab software. Viollier is one of the bigger players on the medical laboratory market in Europe, with several labs spread across Switzerland. The long-standing relationship with this customer ensured close cooperation on a functional level and a lot of freedom for the team in making technical/technological choices, ... You will join our team in Antwerp Berchem. Partial remote working is possible (3 days/week). Your tasks within this team as Java Developer are focused on the development of technical components, with attention also for the UI aspect. You will also work on the continuous improvement and modernization of the application landscape in order to remain relevant for Viollier and its customers in the long term.   • In this multidisciplinary agile team of analysts, developers, architects, scrum master and project leaders, you will work on complex and challenging applications used by Viollier's customers (doctors, patients, hospitals, ...). 
  • Hands-on design and software development based on the functional analysis and you ensure proper integration with external applications.
  • You are a real "software craftsman" who sees software development as a craft. You write quality, easy-to-read code and do refactoring of larger functional wholes where necessary. You guarantee quality through test-driven development and continuous learning.
  • Pair programming 
  • Actively share your knowledge and participate in the continuous improvement of the team's operations.

What you need to succeed:

  • A passionate developer with interest and experience in UI, analysis, design, implementation and delivery of applications in Java technology.
  • You have knowledge of the following: css, html, javascript, jsf, primefaces, sql and kafka. 
  • You have a good hands-on knowledge and experience with relational databases and SQL as well as conceptual knowledge about NoSQL databases such as Couchbase.
  • Knowledge of event sourcing frameworks such as Axon is a plus.
  • You have knowledge of OO design, including design patterns.
  • You have good knowledge of Java 11. Experience with Spring Boot, Spring Web Flow, Spring MVC is a plus.
  • Knowledge of application lifecycle management, devops, continuous integration and the tools (Docker, Kubernetes, helmet etc.) is required.
  • You are convinced of the benefits of agile working.
  • Not only your knowledge is important, we find your motivation, insight and attitude at least as important.
  • You have a very good knowledge of English and Dutch.
  • Affinity with the healthcare world is definitely a plus.
  • Occasional travel does not put you off.
