EngineeringSTUDIO at Cegeka is looking for an Application Security Engineer intern who’s eager to put on the ethical hacker hat and push software to its limits. Do you get energized by strengthening the weaknesses you discover? We’re looking for an intern who combines the mindset of a detective with the skills of a developer. This is your chance to help make our applications more secure from the frontend all the way down to the infrastructure.

  • You’ll proactively search for security vulnerabilities in our software. You’ll analyze your findings, report them to the development team, and where possible, help fix the vulnerabilities yourself by diving into the code. You’ll be a crucial link in securing our products.
  • Vulnerability Hunting: Learn and apply techniques such as static code analysis (SAST), dependency scanning, and dynamic analysis (DAST) to proactively detect weaknesses.
  • Ethical Hacking: Perform manual penetration tests on our web applications, looking for common vulnerabilities from the OWASP Top 10 (e.g., SQL Injection, Cross-Site Scripting).
  • Hands-on Fixing: Where possible, you’ll jump into the code yourself. You’ll fix identified vulnerabilities in the backend (.NET), frontend (React, W3C components), or adjust database and network configurations.
  • Full Stack Analysis: Analyze the entire stack—from network configuration and cloud infrastructure to the smallest details in the source code.

What you need to succeed:

  • You’re studying for a Bachelor's in Applied Computer Science, a Master's in Computer Science (a focus on cybersecurity is a plus), or a Master's in Engineering Sciences: Computer Science.
  • You have a deep passion for cybersecurity and are fascinated by how software can break—and how to secure it.
  • You have a solid foundation in programming and aren’t afraid to read and modify code.
  • You’re analytical, detail-oriented, and have an ethical and responsible mindset.
  • You’re communicative and write fluently in Dutch.
