The AIM (Application and Integration Management) department at Cegeka is responsible for managing and supporting business-critical applications for clients. As a System Engineer within the AIM team, you will play a pivotal role in leading technical application management projects, ensuring the effective management and support of applications, and guiding a team of professionals. As a System Engineer within Cegeka's AIM department, you will be responsible for leading and managing technical application management projects. Your role will involve overseeing the effective management and support of business-critical applications, mentoring and guiding a team of professionals, and collaborating with clients and stakeholders to drive successful outcomes.

  • Leadership and Team Management:
  • -Lead and mentor a team of technical application management professionals, providing guidance, support, and coaching to ensure their professional growth and development.
  • - Foster a positive team culture, encouraging collaboration, knowledge sharing, and a customer-centric mindset.
  • - Allocate resources effectively.
  • - Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and address any performance issues in a timely and constructive manner.  
  • Technical Application Management:
  • - Oversee the effective management and support of business-critical applications, ensuring adherence to established processes, standards, and best practices.
  • - Monitor application performance and proactively identify potential issues, taking appropriate actions to maintain high service quality and customer satisfaction.
  • - Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • - Participate in project planning and execution, ensuring timely delivery and successful outcomes.
  • - Troubleshoot application issues related to databases, collaborating with DBA experts to develop optimal solutions.
  • Client Relationship Management
  • Documentation and Knowledge Management

What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in technical application management, with a focus on leading and managing teams.
  • Strong technical background and understanding of application development, integration, and support processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) and their application in automation and scripting tasks.
  • Familiarity with databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB), operating systems (Windows, Linux), and web technologies.
  • At least 5 years of experience with backend servers running on operating systems such as Windows Server or Red Hat.
  • Broad knowledge of essential IT concepts, including networking, virtualization, storage, monitoring, Active Directory, and others.
  • Azure Fundamentals certification is required, along with additional certifications or at least 2 years of operational experience with MS Azure.
  • Experience troubleshooting application issues related to databases, with proficiency in SQL or Oracle databases.
  • Ability to collaborate with DBA experts to develop optimal database solutions for applications.
  • Automation is second nature to you, and you excel in streamlining processes and tasks through scripting.
  • Familiarity with IT service management concepts and frameworks, with Agile and DevOps way of working.
  • Soft Skills:
  • - Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop innovative solutions.
  • - Strong customer orientation and commitment to delivering high-quality services.
  • - Automation is second nature to you, and you excel in streamlining processes and tasks through scripting.
  • - Adaptability and flexibility to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • - You are fluent in English, Dutch and French are optional.
