Do you enjoy leading, coaching and guiding a team? Do you have experience with Azure Data Services and Databricks? Would you like to be the person who defines and leads the next phase of our data journey? As Team Lead Data Platforms, you lead and inspire a cross-functional team of 15 to 20 data professionals who are responsible for managing and further developing Cegeka’s data platforms. Your team is responsible for both the current on-premise data environment and the transition to a modern, Azure-based cloud platform built around Databricks. Your primary mission is to strengthen and support the team, ensuring they have the right direction, resources and environment to deliver high-quality, reliable and future-proof data products.

  • You define the strategy and execution of our data platform vision together with leadership and safeguard the technological direction during implementation
  • You define and implement a scalable data governance framework that ensures data quality, security and availability
  • You lead, coach and guide a team of data engineers, analysts and architects, fostering a positive, inclusive and performance-driven team culture
  • You support and guide the team in defining technical solutions, provide coaching where needed and help resolve challenges or ensure continuity of services
  • You are a strong people leader who thrives at the intersection of technology and teamwork. You empower others, build collaboration and steer your team to excel in a complex data environment
  • You oversee daily operations and ensure the stability of the on-premise data platform, while simultaneously supporting the transition to the Azure Databricks environment
  • You stimulate collaboration between technical experts and business stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and shared understanding
  • You facilitate alignment between project management, technical execution and strategic business objectives
  • You monitor team capacity, priorities, delivery timelines and approve planning and leave requests
  • You conduct performance and development reviews, set clear growth objectives and support employees in their professional development
  • You promote continuous improvement through agile ways of working and ITIL-based governance
  • You escalate or help resolve critical operational issues when necessary
  • You proactively report to management on progress, risks and resource needs.

What you need to succeed:

  • You have a passion for people leadership and data-driven innovation
  • You have proven experience managing or leading data teams
  • You are skilled at coaching both technical and non-technical profiles
  • You have a solid understanding of data engineering and data platform operations, both on-premise and in the cloud
  • You have experience with Azure Data Services such as Azure Data Lake, Data Factory, Synapse, Data Explorer, Azure SQL Server and Azure DevOps
  • Experience with and/or knowledge of Databricks is a must
  • You have knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, Power BI, Reporting Services or OLAP cubes
  • You have experience with data warehouse modeling techniques such as Dimensional Modeling (Kimball) or Data Vault
  • You are knowledgeable about AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) and their emerging role within data ecosystems
  • Experience as a Scrum Master or Technical Lead is a plus
  • Knowledge of Jira, Scrum or other agile delivery tools, release management or automation is an asset
  • You possess strong communication skills and can easily bridge the gap between business and IT
  • You are empathetic, approachable and assertive when needed
  • You work in a structured and organized manner and have a proactive mindset
  • You are comfortable taking on a hands-on role when necessary to support your team
  • You speak and write Dutch and English fluently
  • You preferably work 3 days per week from our office in Hasselt (Corda), combined with working from home.
