Within our Applications software department, we have a division that specifically handles projects for the Flemish Government. Cegeka's Flanders Digital wants to ensure, in partnership with the Flemish Government, that Flanders grows into the European top 5 most digitized regions. Cegeka is the Flemish Government's strategic IT partner in this.  In this way we are putting our shoulders to the further digitalization of Flanders in the field of digital workplaces and building applications that have an impact on 6.6 million Flemish people, like you and me. Think, for example, of the Growth Package, through which 960 .000 Flemish families automatically receive the correct allowances and benefits. Or the Flemish Enforcement Platform for the Justice and Enforcement Agency, which centralizes all information on administrative enforcement from the various inspection services in Flanders. With Persona, the Education Agency is adopting a new application to manage personnel data.  In addition, we have numerous other projects. For one of our largest clients in Brussels we are looking for a Technical Architect, to put it in Flemish, with goesting!  Do you want to help build a digital Flanders?

  • You will act as a moderator for the different stakeholders to arrive at a choice between different solution approaches.
  • Internal collaboration with stakeholders is essential. You are going to capture their requirements and concerns and incorporate them into architecture.
  • You know and can apply the different integration strategies as described in DDD.
  • Together with the functional application architect, you will describe the various APIs required by the application, with which components they integrate and what the chosen integration technology is. You describe this for example in swaggerhub or another tool that supports the chosen technology.
  • You will describe and maintain a technical data application architecture based on the functional and non-functional requirements, taking into account the reference architecture.
  • You will give input on how the solution can be functionally and especially non-functionally tested (test strategy) and ensure that the architecture is testable on all environments.

What you need to succeed:

  • You already have experience as a Technical Architect and a strong technical background in a Java environment.
  • You have experience with the basic concepts of Agile (E2E Agility, Mindset, Business value, openness to change,...) and Scrum.
  • You have knowledge and experience in a transition to microservices and containers.
  • You are able to acquire in a short period of time the technical operation of the applications under management of the team.
  • You have experience and are familiar with security management, risk assessment and privacy
  • You can qualitatively document persistent documentation according to imposed standards and built in a format so that it is transferable.
  • Architectural knowledge we expect: DDD, CQRS, Event Driven Architecture, distributed systems, partial failure and the CAP theorem.
  • You bring a strategic vision that adds significant value to the business/customer.
  • You know what DevOps is and its relevance in architecture.
  • As an experienced architect you are able to lift colleagues to a higher level.
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English. French is a plus.
