We are looking within our Data & AI team within Cegeka Data Solutions for a Databricks Champion to take the team to the next level. As an expert in Databricks, you will play a crucial role in one of our many challenging Databricks projects.   • In your role as Databricks Champion, you will work closely with colleagues on Data and AI projects for companies operating in various industries. These projects are mainly executed in the Microsoft Azure Cloud. Given your seniority, you are able to take the lead in these projects.
  • Together with the team, you develop the ELT and ETL pipelines needed to retrieve the data from the source systems, transform it according to the predefined business logic, and make it available according to the lakehouse concept. Hereby you also monitor the data quality, stability and security of these data streams.
  • As Databricks Champion, you will also act as a specialist in the conversation with the customer to come up with the best Azure Data solutions. You will transform the functional and technical requirements into the data solutions of the future.
  • Through your coaching style you know how to lift other project members to a higher level.
  • You are able to let our customers make optimal use of the unprecedented possibilities of data. Your persuasiveness and passion come in handy.
  • You continue to improve your technological skills by obtaining and maintaining Microsoft and Databricks certifications, among other things.
  • Cegeka is a Databricks partner. This gives you direct access to their solution architects for technical challenges or specific questions.

What you need to succeed:

  • You are very enthusiastic about data & cloud services.
  • You have more than 5 years of experience in some or all Microsoft Azure Data Services (Data Lake, Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL Server, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Explorer, Azure DevOps, ...)
  • You have advanced knowledge of Python, SQL and/or Scala.
  • You feel comfortable in a lead position and you know how to motivate and coach your team members.
  • You bring with you a flexible, independent and collegial attitude.
  • Because of your strong sense of organization, you know how to deal with different activities at the same time and deliver quality work within tight deadlines.
  • Good communication skills, customer focus and accuracy are also very important in this role.
  • Hybrid employment: You are flexible towards travelling, as you will regularly work at the customer site (mainly in the region of Ghent, Antwerp, Brussels). If you work from the office you can work in the Cegeka office closest to where you live (Ghent, Antwerp, Leuven or Hasselt). There is also the possibility to work from home.
