We are currently looking for a Software Quality Engineer to join our teams working in an air traffic management environment at EUROCONTROL. You will be at the center for the European airspace management with broad opportunities to keep finetuning your development skills, but also to learn more about airspace traffic management business. What opportunities are we offering you as a junior process/quality engineer? The software quality engineer will be part of the team that's responsible for the definition, maintenance and improvement of Technology processes and process Assets (e.g. policies, working practices, user guides) in coordination with internal and external stakeholders and in accordance with requirements of applicable regulation bodies (e.g. EASA) and industry frameworks (e.g. CMMI, ITIL). The team acts as the coordination body of the resolution of issues relating to the process. This means that they: 

  • Ensure that Technology processes and process assets are properly defined and maintened in coordination with internal (e.g. local process experts) and external (e.g. suppliers) stakeholders
  • Ensure coordination of technology process group governance board activities for all the processes, centralizing items that relate to process management and continuous improvement
  • Ensure monitoring and coordination of performance indicators definition, statistical analysis and reporting to feed the continuous improvement activity
  • Ensure quality management of the network management and infrastructure projects and report on the project's quality status during its lifecycle
  • Ensure that the CMMI appraisals and calibration visits are organised in alignment with the maturity rating CMMI institute requirements in coordination with the external CMMI lead appraiser

What you need to succeed:

  • Of course there are several elements we are looking for in our ideal profile for this position. Let's see if you can check all the boxes:
  • About 1 to 2 years experience in a software environment (e.g. software testing, development, etc.) or professional training / experience of an equivalent level is an absolute must have
  • A first professional experience with PowerBI is mandatory for this position. 
  • Experience / Expertise that are certainly a plus: Process modelling, Technical writing, Process management & improvement, IT Lifecycle Management, Quality Control, Process evaluations & Audits, information technology and software development methods
  • Nice to haves: knowledge of statistics & measurements and mission critical systems or safety regulations
  • Soft skills: Able to work independently, Good interpersonal skills to communicate with project stakeholders (users, architects, developers, testers...), Motivated even under pressure
  • Languages: Thorough knowledge of English (oral/written)
