As an Application Architect you derive energy from creating the ideal technical solution for our clients. You create complex, scalable solutions, have a keen eye for conceptual design, technical excellence and are a clear communicator on the plans we propose.  You will join the project team of one of Cegeka’s customers from the automotive sector. The goal of the team will be to help with the digital transformation of customers’ business processes, bringing a higher value to our clients by adding to the already high-quality software delivery a new allocation engine. In this role, you'll not only be responsible for making architectural decisions but also collaborate closely with the client to ensure alignment. While most of the architecture is already in place, you’ll play a key part in refining and supporting it. Additionally, you’ll get hands-on with coding, particularly on more complex tasks, working closely with the development team.

  • You link business drivers to technical solutions and know how to translate these in a stable, working architecture
  • Based on a thorough analysis of the requirements of the client you propose a technical roadmap. You are able to explain complex technical challenges to non-technical stakeholders.
  • You help manage stakeholders and are able to gather the information needed to make decisions on a technical and architectural level.
  • You are a clear and concise communicator and are able to deliver impactful, convincing presentations to the customer.
  • As the architect in team you take the needed actions so your team can deliver both value and quality to the client.
  • Design and develop new features in line with the functional requirements and architecture
  • Follow team coding standards and best practices
  • Design and develop Java backend services
  • Work with the latest tools and technologies
  • You write high-quality, easily readable code and refactor where necessary. You guarantee quality through test-driven development
  • Actively share your knowledge and contribute to the continuous improvement of the team's operations

What you need to succeed:

  • You are an experienced application of solution architect.
  • You are able to translate the long-term architectural vision into a phased, step by step technical/improvement backlog and set priorities in accordance with the customers IT and business stakeholders.
  • Your experience as a Senior Java Developer (6+ years of professional experience in analysis, design, implementation, and delivery of applications in Java technology) allows you to assist the team in a hands-on manner.
  • You are able to steer and guide a team of experienced developers and ensure the architectural design is respected. You are able to share best practices with your team.
  • You are able to assist proxies and analysts with insights and advise.
  • You’re able to deliver an impactful presentation, you’re a good communicator and know how to convince a broad audience.
  • You master the English language.
