Senior Java developer - Flanders Digital

Cegeka continues to grow! Within our Applications software department we have a division that specifically handles projects for the Flemish Government. Cegeka's Flanders Digital wants to ensure, in partnership with the Flemish Government, that Flanders grows into the European top 5 most digitized regions. Cegeka is the Flemish Government's strategic IT partner in this.  In this way we are putting our shoulders to the further digitalization of Flanders in the field of digital workplaces and building applications that have an impact on 6.6 million Flemish people, like you and me. Think, for example, of the Growth Package, through which 960,000 Flemish families automatically receive the correct allowances and benefits. Or the Flemish Enforcement Platform for the Justice and Enforcement Agency, which centralizes all information on administrative enforcement from the various inspection services in Flanders. With Persona, the Education Agency is adopting a new application to manage personnel data.  In addition, we have numerous other projects. • Develop complex and challenging business applications and work with the latest tools and technologies.
• Hands-on design and software development based on the functional analysis and you will ensure proper integration with external applications.
• Working in a driven agile team consisting of functional analysts, developers and an agile project leader/scrum master.
• Building high quality applications that generate additional business value for our clients.
• You are a true “software craftsman” who sees software development as a craft. You write quality, easily readable code and do refactoring where necessary. You guarantee quality through test-driven development and continuous learning.
• You actively share your knowledge and contribute to the continuous improvement of the team's operations.
• You can also use your technical knowledge in presales projects.

• A passionate Java developer with professional experience in analysis, design, implementation and delivery of applications in Java technology.
• Possess a good knowledge of OO design, including design patterns, is a must.
• Experience with application integration and excellent competencies in relational databases is essential. You may also bring your extensive No-SQL knowledge.
• You have knowledge of recent Java frameworks (e.g. Spring, Hibernate, etc.).
• Front-end JavaScript frameworks, for example Angular2, Bootstrap, etc. are not unknown to you.
• Understanding of application lifecycle management, continuous integration and the necessary tools (Jira, GitHub, Docker, Gradle, etc.) is indispensable in this position.
• You are convinced of the benefits of Agile working or are open to being convinced.
